My name is Alison, and I’m a book addict.
I absolutely love reading. I love the smell of bookstores, the feel of pages when you turn them, the sense of urgency to finish a book in one sitting, the excitement of receiving a new book in the mail. I love rejoicing over my OTPs, yelling at dumb character decisions, and yes, even mourning favorite character deaths. The love affair I have with books has gone on for as long as I can remember- my room has essentially turned into a library! A year ago I decided to share that love with all of you- the internet- and behold! This blog and my instagram account (linked here!) were born.
3 years ago I relocated to NYC from Boston, Mass, in order to study Education Policy at New York University. I may have changed my major about 5 times before I settled on Education- my ultimate goal is to become an educational advocate who helps students with IEPs and 504 plans navigate the educational system in the United States. I’m currently applying for my master’s (OOF where did the time go!) at NYU and I’m eventually hoping to go to law school.
In my free time, I like volunteering at cat shelters, singing, and drinking coffee to stay awake!
A quick list of things I’m addicted to that aren’t reading:
- Coffee and tea
- Seltzer Water (The Poland Springs kind!)
- A nice pair of heels
- My Spotify account (I love new song suggestions!)
- Essential Oils
- DIY home projects
Here are some other people you may see on this blog, and who I’ll reference periodically!
1. My parents
My parents, Maureen and Bruce, are some pretty cool people- but don’t tell them I said that! I know, I’m lame, thinking my parents are cool. But really. They are. (If you’re interested, go check out my dad’s blog Here!
2. My siblings
Christine and Ben are pretty kooky feat. This personality pic of us from a few years ago!
3. My boyfriend
Here he is- his name is Luke, and he also goes to NYU as a Film and TV major in Tisch!
4. My pets
I have a dog named Flash (not pictured)- he’s the WEIRDEST beagle I’ve ever met- and a grey tabby cat named Georgia. She’s a fluff ball.
So that’s me. What about you? Tell me about yourself in the comments. I don’t bite (usually) and I love making new friends! (Also feel free to ask any questions!)
